Businesses

Blue Water Yacht Harbor

“We are an 81-slip marina in the Marinship. I spent some time today reviewing the AIM initiative and I must say it is a fantastic document that will greatly help improve the waterfront. Thank you for all of your efforts on this!!! It’s long overdue. We wholeheartedly endorse this initiative.” — Christopher Lacey, majority owner at Blue Water Yacht Harbor

Clipper Yacht Harbo

“Clipper has long advocated for this kind of forward-thinking approach. We are committed to investing in the maritime community, and this initiative creates meaningful opportunities to do just that.”

Farallon Aquatics

“Water is more than a venue...it’s a teacher. It builds discipline, resilience, and community of lifelong athletes in ways nothing else can. That's why we proudly endorse the AIM Initiative. A healthy waterfront supports the whole community: physical and mental health through time in and on the water, economic vitality through local makers and maritime businesses, and civic life through shared public spaces. Let’s build a waterfront future generations cherish.” — Zac Monsees, Sausalito resident & Executive Director of Farallon Aquatics

LLEA Blue‍ ‍

“After the ’89 earthquake, my family moved CP Shades’ sewing facilities to Sausalito because that’s where we lived. My family has been manufacturing clothing here ever since. We have repeatedly tried to open a factory outlet only to be rejected because of the zoning laws.

Last year, my parents retired and I am continuing their legacy of manufacturing clothing in the Marinship under my new label LLEA BLUE.

Integrating factory outlets honors the industrial roots of the Marinship while ensuring the economic engine of Sausalito has the fuel to run for the next generation.” — Zach Weinstein, owner

Mauma

Mauma delivers chef-prepared, gluten-free postpartum meals inspired by Korean culinary tradition to doorsteps across the SF Bay Area — and they're made in Sausalito’s Marinship.

“We recently survived the outrageous process of building a small (954 sq. ft) commercial kitchen which took two years to complete. Our experience drives us to support any local initiatives that support small businesses instead of hindering and punishing them before they even start. We feel so grateful to be a part of the Marinship and would love to see a future that embraces more independent and unique businesses. After learning we will never be allowed to sell retail food because of our zoning, we have had to eliminate that section of our business, thus losing out on potential revenue (as a small biz this can make things hard!). If this ballot is successful we could sell our food that will help us survive as business while serving the workers, residents and visitors of Sausalito. Thank you so much for the work and outreach you are doing! The build out processes really crushed us so we're thankful your team is out there trying to do something about it.” — Marty & Nicole, owners
